Nimsoft Offers Easy Migration for Former Silverback Customers as Dell Moves to Hosted-Only Model

Customers Select NMS for Comprehensive Monitoring Capabilities

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/25/09 -- Nimsoft Inc., the "Big 4" alternative for IT performance and availability monitoring solutions, is noticing a shift in the marketplace as Dell limits support for the former Silverback monitoring appliance. Dell is effectively forcing many Managed Service Provider (MSP) partners to leave the Silverback platform as it is moved into Dell's datacenter as part of its own managed service offering. As a result, former Silverback customers are evaluating the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) as a replacement for Silverback. To support this market shift, Nimsoft is offering special migration terms to former Silverback customers to enable a smooth, cost-effective migration to Nimsoft.

Silverback MSPs like Atrion and many others have already shifted to NMS and are realizing the benefits of working with a strategic partner rather than a technology vendor.

According to Tim Hebert, CEO of Atrion, "Dell stopped all development on the former Silverback monitoring appliance over a year ago causing an inability to keep current with new and emerging technologies like virtualization and unified communications. The reliability of the Silverback monitored appliance offering has decreased drastically, and MSPs like us have suffered hundreds of hours of downtime. Recently Dell announced a 2010 end of life on the Silverback monitoring appliance while not offering a clear migration path for mature MSPs. Like many of Silverback's MSP customers, we couldn't migrate to the new Dell datacenter offering without reducing the level of service to our clients. We were forced to leave the Silverback platform."

"Monitoring capabilities are vital for any organization, but they can represent a significant competitive differentiator for an MSP," revealed Gary Read, president and CEO of Nimsoft. "Our solutions deliver comprehensive, robust and easy-to-use monitoring capabilities that enable MSPs to expand their service offerings, boost service levels, and strengthen their competitive position."

"We are passionately focused on the business success of our clients," said Atrion's Hebert. "That entails taking time to understand what they're looking to accomplish and then delivering truly customized service that meets those objectives. The Nimsoft solution and team uniquely supports us in these efforts. They help us to be more agile in adapting to technology advancements and evolving customer needs, ultimately enabling us to deliver higher levels of service to our clients."

Former Silverback customers interested in evaluating Nimsoft should contact Nimsoft for information on special pricing offers, or visit www.nimsoft.com/migrate.

According to Forrester Research, every business will become either a digital predator or digital prey by 2020. To avoid demise, organizations must rapidly create new sources of value in their end-to-end customer experiences. True digital predators also must break down information and process silos and extend digital transformation initiatives to empower employees with the digital resources needed to win, serve, and retain customers.
