Microsoft to Explore Expo Industry with New 3D technology

Chinese Expos Take a Lead to Realize 3D Virtualization

HONG KONG, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- At the end of 2009, there is continual news in the virtual fair field. On Dec. 6th, the 3rd China (Shenzhen) International Finance Exhibition organized by Shenzhen Municipal Government drew to a close. On the following day, "3D Virtual China (Shenzhen) International Finance Exhibition," co-organized by CCPIT (Shenzhen) and Fairtheworld (Fairtheworld.com), went online as planned, migrating the closed actual finance expo to the much wider Fair N Fair 3D virtual expo platform. Hundreds of major banks, insurance companies and securities agencies, such as Bank of China, Citibank and Ping An Insurance, went on exhibit here. The visitorship can now expand to global financial professionals from only attendees who took part the real show. Global users can download Fair N Fair software client side or visit the link below to experience "Virtual Finance Expo": http://www.fairtheworld.com/NewsPage.aspx?NID=7516

At the same time, from the report of the research institution VGMarket, Microsoft is planning to promote virtual expo technology on its XBOX Live platform. Game fans can enjoy the game shows such as E3 and TGS, etc. With the technology, the XBOX fans can visit the game producers' booths just as at the real show, watching their promotional videos, viewing posters and even trying new games or having interactions, etc.

While Microsoft is planning this, the Chinese expo industry already realizes virtualization and enjoys a leading position. The 3D virtual expo helped China (Shenzhen) International Finance Exhibition become the No. 1 expo in the world, which achieves real off-line and online expo synchronously. The 3D virtual Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, built at the same time of 3D virtual Finance Expo, enables the Shenzhen exhibition center to become the No. 1 exhibition center in the world which realizes "Double line operation."

The four 3D virtual exhibitions, Fairtheworld Virtual Expo (Fairtheworld.com), 3D World Expo, Oracle EMEA Applications Virtual Trade Show, and Microsoft virtual expo were released one after another in 2009. Fairtheworld virtual expo is the first one to develop the concept and the only one to realize the business application. In addition they launched plans such as "3D Pazhou", "3D house show" and "Cloud expo," offering whole virtual operations solutions for global expos, venues and enterprises and guiding the traditional expos to a new developing stage.

The current state of the art for Big Data analytics, as applied to network telemetry, offers new opportunities for improving and assuring operational integrity. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Jim Frey, Vice President of S...

The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
