RPE Outsourcing Successfully Completes SOC 1 (SSAE 16) TYPE II Examination

RPE Outsourcing, LLC (RPEO), a retail cloud computing and IT operations management service provider, announced today the company has completed a SOC 1 Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) Type II examination.

Formerly known as a SAS 70 audit, the SSAE 16, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is the most widely recognized authoritative guidance that provides service organizations a uniform method for disclosing independently assessed information about the design and operation of internal controls related to services. Companies that complete an annual SOC 1 examination are able to demonstrate a substantially higher level of assurance than those companies that do not.

“We proactively develop and implement numerous controls in our Data Center as the audit is a significant differential when retailers are selecting a hosting and systems management provider,” said Cliff Epstein, president, RPEO. “This audit confirms our commitment to the highest standards of quality and performance to ensure security of services.”

The completion of the examination typifies RPEO's continued commitment to create and maintain the most stringent controls needed to ensure the highest quality and security. The Service Auditor’s report, issued by 360 Advanced, demonstrates that RPEO control activities were effectively designed and in operation throughout the reporting period.

The report includes a detailed description of RPEO controls and an independent assessment of whether the controls are placed in operation, suitably designed, and operating effectively. To receive a copy of the report, or for any further questions, please send an email request to [email protected].

IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
