Avtex Finishes Integration of Sage Innovations’ Contact Center and VoIP Business

Avtex, a provider of integrated, interaction solutions, today announced the completion of the acquisition of the Contact Center and VoIP division of Sage Innovations, a respected technology solutions provider and Interactive Intelligence reseller based in Chesterfield, MO. As part of the agreement, Avtex acquired a portion of Sage’s intellectual property, technical resources and regional Interactive Intelligence customer base.

“I am amazed how quickly our team can integrate an acquisition and infuse additional value to a new customer base,” said George Demou, President of Avtex. “We chose the Sage acquisition in latter 2011 because our companies have very similar values and a commitment to innovation. The addition of Sage’s superior product line, expert resources and loyal customer base is also a way for us to continue to build upon our already strong partnership with Interactive Intelligence,” Demou added.

Avtex was one of Interactive Intelligence’s top North American partners in 2011, winning its prestigious Pace Setter, Contact Center Award. “As an Interactive Intelligence reseller since 1997, Avtex is one of our most experienced partners,” said Interactive Intelligence sales VP, Paul Weber. “With this acquisition, Avtex adds valuable IT infrastructure capabilities that offer customers an even more complete contact center and unified communications solution.”

Sage will maintain their current office location in Chesterfield and continue to support their existing business lines including storage, virtualization and infrastructure.

The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
