Precision Software Achieves Oracle Validated Integration with Oracle Transportation Management

Precision Software, a division of QAD Inc. (NASDAQ: QADA) (NASDAQ: QADB), a leading provider of transportation and trade management solutions and a Gold level member of the Oracle® Partner Network (OPN), today announced it has achieved Oracle Validated Integration of Precision Software Transportation Management System (TMS) Parcel v2012 with Oracle Transportation Management 6.2.

Precision TMS now offers a comprehensive multi-carrier manifesting application integrated with Oracle Transportation Management to support small parcel shipping. This enhances rapid shipment processing for high volume shipping environments. The integration offers carrier compliant label generation and end-of-day manifesting utilizing Precision Software global carrier certifications (more than 40 worldwide).

To achieve Oracle Validated Integration, Oracle partners are required to meet a stringent set of requirements that are based on the needs and priorities of the customers. With the continuing growth of online retailing, the requirement to support parcel shipping is more important than ever. It is now becoming essential for companies to include parcel in their freight mix and this is a driving force for the integration. Precision Software TMS extends the functionality of Oracle Transportation Management by making it easier for customers to consider parcel carrier services during rate analysis and planning.

The connectivity between the systems allows customers to build shipping networks that include parcel carrier services. This also allows for these shipments to be considered during planning and optimization in Oracle Transportation Management.

“By enabling customers to easily consider parcel carrier services during rate analysis and planning, Oracle Validated Integration with Precision Software TMS can allow our existing and new clients to reduce costs and achieve a much quicker time to market,” said Robert Clesi, senior manager, Alliance Partners, Precision Software. “Precision takes great care in evaluating the market requirements, and we feel that we have expanded on the international capabilities and scalability with this recent offering.”

“Oracle Validated Integration applies a rigorous technical review and test process,” said Kevin O’Brien, senior director, ISV and SaaS Strategy, Oracle. “Achieving Oracle Validated Integration through Oracle Partner Network gives our customers confidence that the integration between Precision Software TMS Parcel v2012 and Oracle Transportation Management 6.2 has been validated, and that the products work together as designed. This helps reduce risk and improves the implementation cycles for our joint customers.”

Web Real-Time Communication APIs have quickly revolutionized what browsers are capable of. In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.
DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.
