SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- Hurricane Electric, the world's largest IPv6-native Internet backbone and leading colocation provider, today announced that Owen DeLong, Hurricane Electric's IPv6 Evangelist and Director of Professional Services, will speak at IMN's third annual Forum on Financing, Investing and Real Estate Development for Data Centers, which will occur this Thursday and Friday at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara.
On Thursday, November 29 at 11:25 a.m., Mr. DeLong will be featured on a panel titled "Evaluating Data Center, Internet and Other Key Standards." The panel's participants will discuss how to evaluate the relative importance of data center standards and performance metrics, and how to demonstrate compliance. The discussion will also highlight the economic, legal and environmental foundations of these data center standards.
Specific topics for discussion will include:
- Tiering
- Efficiency metrics from ASHRAE, Green Grid and Uptime Institute
- IPv6 addressing
- HIPAA considerations
- Audit strategies
Mr. DeLong will be joined on the panel by David Jemmet from ClearDATA Networks, Daniel Bodenski from CRB USA and Hector Diaz from Oracle Global Real Estate Management. Moderating the panel will be Tim Nicols from RagingWire.
"I look forward to showing attendees how customer satisfaction can be improved by compliance with global data center standards," said Owen DeLong. "I also plan to emphasize the criticality of full IPv6 support in the data center."
In September, Hurricane Electric announced that it secured $13m in funding to continue the expansion of its Fremont 2 data center.
