Vinton Cerf Joins Senior Executives from Broadcom, AT&T Labs and Ciena as Keynote Speakers at IEEE GLOBECOM 2012

New York, NY, November 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Vinton Cerf, the celebrated computer scientist most commonly known as one of "fathers of the Internet,” will be joined by the senior executives of leading telecommunications companies such as Broadcom, AT&T Labs and Ciena as keynote speakers at IEEE GLOBECOM 2012, the premier international conference dedicated to global communications. To be held December 3 - 7 at the fabled Disneyland® Hotel in Anaheim, California, this year’s annual event is scheduled to include more than 1,500 technical and business presentations focused on the advancement of next wave Internet and communications technologies as well as the expansion of the latest IPv6, smart grid and cloud computing protocols and applications.

Beginning Monday, December 3, IEEE GLOBECOM 2012 will open with the first of two days of industry and technical tutorials and workshops detailing the newest research in areas such as mobile cloud computing, small cell and wireless cognitive radio networks, M2M in smart grid and smart cities, future world mobility management and the “Green Internet of Things.”

The conference will then officially commence on Tuesday, December 4 with Dr. Henry Samueli, Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Broadcom Corporation delivering his keynote on “Connecting Everything: Dream Becomes Reality.” On the following morning, Vinton Cerf will offer his address on “Internet Challenges 2012-2020” with numerous international communications experts speaking over the next few days. This includes:

-Hossein Eslambolchi, Chairman & CEO of “2020 Venture Partners,” who will talk about “The Power of Technology to Transform the Future” as well as every aspect of society
-Stephen B. Alexander, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Ciena, who will discuss “The Performance-on-Demand Application Ecosystem: The Next Phase of Telecom Infrastructure”
-Krish Prabhu, President, AT&T Labs and Chief Technology Officer, who will speak on “Connected Life: the Future of Global Communications”

In addition, Tuesday through Thursday will also entail a comprehensive schedule of nearly 1,500 senior-level addresses, business panels and technical presentations covering the entire range of global communications. This includes the opening of the Industry Forum and Exhibition designed to showcase the innovations and displays of leading corporations such as Ciena, SARACEN, Wiley and National Instruments and as well as a program of more than 20 sessions covering areas like “M2M/IoT: What are the Futures in Communications?” “Next Generation Internet,” “Future Networks, IPv6 Deployment,” “Social Networks: Impact on Quality of Life” and “Green Communications & Computing.” Held in conjunction will also be the conference’s Executive Forum offering a “Dialog with Industry Leaders” as well as expert presentations about “New Technologies to Watch,” “Data Infrastructure and Services” and “IT Transformation: Clouds, Security, Mobility and Computing.”

Another significant highlight is the conference’s comprehensive presentation of technical papers offered across scores of sessions from December 4 - 6. This will include more than 1,000 technical papers presented on topics ranging from energy savings in communications networking, smart grid communications, spectrum sharing, and Internet security to signal processing, power & resource management, vehicular networking, satellite & space communications and green cellular wireless communications.
