Borqs' Focus on Cloud Computing Helps Government and Enterprise Customers Navigate Road to Enterprise Cloud

Borqs provides mobile operators with highly efficient enterprise cloud services

BEIJING, Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cloud computing, the third wave of IT, is one of the fastest-growing emerging industries in the world with ever-expanding uses for both governments and enterprises. According to the latest quarterly IT Spending Report from Gartner, the global public cloud service market, which exceeded $91 billion in 2011, is expected to increase by 19 percent to $109 billion by the end of 2012. Ed Anderson, cloud computing observer at Gartner, has predicted that cloud computing will lead to a string of new expenditure points for the IT industry over a long timeframe and stimulate substantial growth in related markets. By 2016, said Mr. Anderson, the cloud computing industry will have more than doubled to a market scale of $207 billion. Rapid developments in cloud technology have led to a more mature cloud storage market and a major trend towards enterprise cloud computing.

However, government and enterprise customers, most notably mobile operators, are saddled with funding, equipment and manpower pressures, making the transition to enterprise cloud a difficult one to navigate. The mass of data generated during day-to-day operations must be stored long-term, which means size requirements are growing with each passing day. Local backup programs struggle to ensure that data is not lost and the cost of remote disaster recovery remains prohibitively high for many. In addition, careful access control is required to avoid data leakage, and massive amounts of data require enterprises to hire special personnel to implement and manage backup, increasing labor costs.
