Stoneware, the leader in Unified Cloud computing, announced the immediate availability of LanSchool 7.7.2. This release includes many new features but remains simple, reliable and easy-to-use, as teachers and tech coordinators have come to expect. LanSchool v7.7.2 now includes Windows 8 support, as well as improved iOS and Linux support.
With this release, LanSchool can manage students running Windows 8 in both Metro and Desktop interfaces, making it one of the first Classroom management solutions to have that capability.
“Adding Windows 8 support, as well as improving iOS and Linux support shows our continued commitment to maintaining a strong cross-platform solution,” said Rick German, CEO of Stoneware. “We understand that most computer environments contain a variety of devices and operating systems, and we support that by allowing our customers to purchase just one license to use on all platforms.”
Improved iPhone and iPad Features
LanSchool 7.7.2 contains a number of enhancements to the iOS Student app to allow iPads and iPhones to participate in Distance Teaching. Other improvements include iPhone 5 support, the ability to load class lists, and support for testing on iPads, iPhones and iPods.
Group Chat
LanSchool now includes the ability for a teacher to start and maintain a group chat. This aids with collaboration among students.
Ubuntu 12 Support
LanSchool 7.7.2 contains Ubuntu 12 support, making our most popular features available on this Linux platform.
