AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Flashback Data, a fast-growing data recovery and computer forensics company, announced today it is continuing offering its data recovery services to businesses and individuals that are still suffering from the affects Hurricane Sandy. The company has assisted several companies throughout New York that experienced flooding from the storm and required an experienced firm to recover critical business data.
The company recently provided data recovery services to CMIT Solutions, a franchise-based IT firm that offers hardware purchasing, cloud computing, IT outsourcing, and a range of other solutions for businesses of any size. "We experienced some considerable damages as a result of the hurricane and needed a recovery partner that had the necessary experience to save our data," said Armando D'Accordo, President of CMIT of Metro New York and Long Island. "Flashback Data was able to repair our hardware and retrieve precious information which allowed us to resume our business with minimal interruption."
Companies with electronic hardware components that are still damp or submerged are advised by Flashback Data's expert technicians to not let the drives dry out, and to actually keep them in contact with the source of moisture. Salt water crystallizes on surfaces when it completely dries out, which makes the recovery process even more difficult.
Flashback Data employs advanced cleaning techniques that have been developed over years of careful operation to maximize the odds of retrieval and prevent damage. It features ultrasonic cleaning to avoid any scratching of a drive's platters, an especially important consideration when dealing with salt water intrusion where a single scratch can cause non-recoverability.
"Hurricane Sandy might be over, but the headaches still persist for many businesses that are facing the loss of inventory, real estate, and often the most damaging, vital electronic data," said Russell Chozick, Vice President of Flashback Data. "We have deep experience going back to Hurricane Katrina in carefully cleaning and retrieving data from ruined hard drives, servers, RAID arrays, and even thumb drives and tapes. Our clean room is state of the art, allowing us to open drives, remove the damage, and then replace mechanicals and perform other functions which can bring them back to life."
Flashback Data is currently offering discounted pricing to firms that were affected by Hurricane Sandy and require precision data recovery services. Find out more about Flashback Data and its comprehensive data recovery and computer forensics services at www.flashbackdata.com.
