REUTLINGEN, Germany, December 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
iPoint are expanding their global presence into new territory. In the rapidly developing Turkish market, the leading software partners for Sustainable Business Systems were able to win over the Turkish market leader in the household goods sector. In the EU, housewares producers are faced with innumerable regulations. In particular, surface properties and pure substances of imported products are closely monitored. In order to maintain profitability and ensure a complete overview of the country-specific standards, the Turkish leader in the household goods sector has chosen the Supplier Portal Entry (SEP) and the Compliance Agent (module SAM-M) from iPoint.
In June, the first contact was made. From then on, everything happened very quickly: In November, the order was placed, and by March 2013, the full range of household goods and consumer electronics will have already been tested thoroughly. The data from the tests will be incorporated directly into the existing architecture. iPoint-systems can adapt their products to meet the diverse needs of individual industries and integrate intelligent interface definitions with existing software environments. This enables the consideration and customer-specific implementation of new regulations for the Southeast European household appliances manufacturer. In the future, the software solution will monitor the supply chain and production process of the Turkish market leader in household goods. Firstly, the Supplier Entry Portal manages the communication with the suppliers. Secondly, the Teamcenter PDM systems and SAP used for development and purchasing processes will be integrated with the iPoint Compliance Agent (SAM-M module, Substance Article Mixture Management) for the analysis of product structures. This will ensure standard-compliant export of the complete range of products, which mainly consists of white goods and small electrical household items for the kitchen and bathroom, to various countries. The products are tested for surface properties and pure substances level according to the latest regulations, including REACh and the technically oriented RoHS directive. iPoint's software automates this process in-house and ensures that external influences, such as new relevant regulations and standards of the importing countries are incorporated into the test procedure regularly.
iPoint's software is available in various languages and is adapted to the company's specific needs. This facilitates working on a global level and assists the company in complying with international standards and regulations, which in turn simplifies export processes. The systems used in the Turkish company up to now cannot cover this comprehensively. All these factors were crucial in the decision process of the Turkish houseware market leader for selecting the new solution from iPoint.
