Kyruus, a healthcare Big Data company, announced today that Endeca Technologies Founder and CEO, Steve Papa, has joined its Strategic Advisory Board. Papa brings to the team a wealth of entrepreneurial and operational experience, having led Endeca from inception to its eventual $1.1B acquisition by Oracle. “I’m extremely excited to join the Kyruus team as an advisor at this important time of change in the healthcare industry,” says Papa. “A Big Data platform like Kyruus’ will be essential for organizations seeking to improve operational efficiencies and generate high-quality outcomes.”
Papa is no stranger to the concept of integrating and analyzing massive amounts of data to drive commercial efficiencies and novel insights. Papa founded Endeca in 1999 with an innovative technology designed to solve long-standing business problems stemming from information overload. He led Endeca to become one of the fastest-growing software companies in the world, with five consecutive years of more than 100% revenue growth, leading to the eventual acquisition by Oracle in October of 2011. He was also an early team member at Inktomi, heading the infrastructure caching business unit that grew to make up sixty percent of the company’s revenue. Papa holds a B.S. in Operations Research and Economics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
“Kyruus has added a visionary and proven entrepreneur to our team of advisors,” said Graham Gardner, Co-Founder and CEO of Kyruus. “As the Founder and CEO of a pioneering company that used data to drive business results, Steve knows how to take data-based assets and translate them into customer success. We are incredibly fortunate to have Steve’s guidance as we grow quickly to meet the market demand for innovative healthcare solutions.”
