MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/23/13 -- The Linley Group today announced it will host its 2013 conferences at a new location -- the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, Calif. -- starting with next month's Linley Tech Data Center Conference on Feb. 5-6, 2013. The single-track event targets network equipment vendors, server OEMs, system designers, network service providers, enterprise-network managers and software developers making decisions on technologies for the data center.
"The rapid expansion of cloud computing is driving network and compute changes in the data center," said Jag Bolaria, senior analyst with The Linley Group. "Designers must understand how to address new types of workloads in the cloud, while meeting the demand for higher scalability, modularity, flexibility and power efficiency. Our sessions have been designed to give attendees an in-depth understanding of the processor and interconnect trends that will enable them to meet these demands, as well as discuss the emerging standards that will drive next-generation data centers."
The conference will open with an overview of the market, technologies, equipment-design, and silicon trends impacting data-center equipment. The program's networking topics will include software-defined networking; tunneling; multi-tiered transition to flat networks; converged fabrics and Ethernet standardization. Compute topics will include cloud computing and data-center workloads; multi-processor architectures and power-efficient server processors.
The conference keynote on the second day will feature Howie Xu, vice president of engineering at Big Switch, who will discuss software-defined networking in cloud computing.
The Linley Group offers free attendance to qualified registrants who sign up by February 1, 2013. For more information on the conference program and to register, please visit https://www.linleygroup.com/data-center-conference.
