Flexiant and UShareSoft Partner for Self Service Provisioning of Cloud Resources and Applications

Partnership will enable cloud service providers to offer customers "ready-to-run" applications or the ability to create bespoke software solutions

London, UK and Grenoble, France - 19 March 2013 - Flexiant and UShareSoft today announced a partnership to provide cloud service providers with a way to quickly create and manage applications and associated cloud resources by integrating the UForge cloud software factory with Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator. The partnership will offer joint customers the benefits of on-demand, fully automated provisioning of cloud services, software and applications.

Using UForge, cloud service providers or end users can automate the creation and maintenance of full software stacks (OS, middleware and applications) as cloud server templates and virtual machines (VMs). Customers can then publish their templates directly to the Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator image library ready for self-service provisioning. Additionally, Bento Box technology within Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator allows users to pick and choose from these templates to build bespoke, multi-VM software solutions.

"The goal for most cloud service providers is to not only deliver the infrastructure, but the applications," said Tony Lucas, Product Champion and Founder, Flexiant. "By offering our Bento Box technology in partnership with UShareSoft technology, we are able to deliver a truly powerful application solution."

"To scale their cloud business, service providers must enable their partners and customers to onboard software and applications as quickly and as easily as possible," said James Weir, CTO and Co-Founder, UShareSoft. "By integrating UForge with Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator, we are offering services providers a way to quickly ramp simple or complex applications to their cloud."

Join Flexiant and UShareSoft for a forthcoming webinar on 25 April 2013 to better understand how cloud service providers can differentiate with new value-added services that offer end users on-demand application delivery and provisioning and remove the complexity of cloud application deployments. https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/195203769

While the focus and objectives of IoT initiatives are many and diverse, they all share a few common attributes, and one of those is the network. Commonly, that network includes the Internet, over which there isn't any real control for performance and availability. Or is there? The current state of the art for Big Data analytics, as applied to network telemetry, offers new opportunities for improving and assuring operational integrity. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Jim Frey, Vice President of S...

The Internet of Things is clearly many things: data collection and analytics, wearables, Smart Grids and Smart Cities, the Industrial Internet, and more. Cool platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel's Galileo and Edison, and a diverse world of sensors are making the IoT a great toy box for developers in all these areas. In this Power Panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists discussed what things are the most important, which will have the most profound e...
The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
