Unisys Joins SAP PartnerEdge as an SAP Services Partner

Unisys brings its expertise in mission-critical application capabilities in policing and law enforcement

Unisys UK on Thursday announced it has joined the SAP PartnerEdge program as an SAP services partner. The program provides the company with access to resources and services from SAP that will help Unisys serve public sector clients with highly sensitive project requirements.

Through this new partnership, Unisys will leverage its expertise with SAP solutions in relation to its work with Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), where it supports applications that are critical for the day-to-day policing of London. Over the past 24 months alone, Unisys has delivered more than 12,000 days of SAP solution-related work to the MPS.

Unisys plans to leverage this expertise to address highly sensitive projects for customers across the UK's law enforcement and government sectors.

Colin Penn, UK ITO Service Delivery Director, Unisys, said: "The secure nature of the work and the information being handled on behalf of the MPS demands that all on our team have achieved a minimum of Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) clearance. This level of clearance is a testament to our work with the MPS and to the dedication of our team and our close collaboration with SAP."

In addition to this sector expertise, the Unisys UK team provides technical skills covering a wide range of SAP technologies and the ability to adhere to industry standard methodologies such as ITIL, Prince 2, PMI and ASAP.

Unisys plans to roll out training in SAP solutions to its team and continue to work closely with SAP on new business initiatives. Unisys will continue to provide support to the public sector and other sectors that have a requirement for security-cleared, UK-based expertise in SAP solutions.

SAP services partners help SAP customers design, implement and integrate SAP solutions, optimize business processes, and provide strategic business consultation. As an SAP services partner, Unisys will take an active part in the support, customization and deployment of SAP solution-based systems.

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
