Newmerix™ today announced that Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., a leading national less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier, has deployed Newmerix Automate! for SAP to provide consistent and business-driven change management as well as enforceable Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Prior to implementing the Newmerix solution, Old Dominion spent significant time managing more than 50 change requests each week. Old Dominion manually tracked changes to SAP including: change request origin, change requestor, change review process and change approvers. Old Dominion chose Newmerix Automate! for SAP because it enabled them to automatically create a compliant repository of documentation for each change request while creating tamper-proof processes and verifiable process documentation. Furthermore, because Newmerix solutions are certified by SAP, Old Dominion had an instant validation on the quality of the technology.
“Using Newmerix Automate! for SAP allows Old Dominion to not only be Sarbanes-Oxley compliant but also saves my team more than 20 hours a week that were previously spent managing and recording each change,” said Don Hampton, Basis Administrator at Old Dominion Freight Line. “With the amount of time we have already saved, we have redirected our focus within our business team to other mission critical items.”
Old Dominion began their search in January of 2007 and tested various point solutions but none were completely SAP certified or provided the same flexibility and customization as Newmerix’s offering. Newmerix Automate! for SAP was installed in March 2007 and was fully implemented and operational in one week. Immediately Old Dominion experienced time and resource savings with the advanced workflow and auditing capabilities that are a part of Newmerix Automate! for SAP.
“Businesses realize that customizing their ERP applications to fit contemporary needs is a significant problem and drain on scarce IT resources,” said Dan Gannon, CEO, Newmerix. “Add to this the complexity associated with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and the problem has far reaching implications. Organizations like Old Dominion Freight Line turn to Newmerix for a smarter way to facilitate application changes to meet strategic business goals.”
