Tour of Custom Air Products & Services, Inc. Slated for Tuesday, April 28

HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 04/22/09 -- The 7th Annual Latin American Leadership Forum is set for April 27-29 at the Westin Hotel in the Galleria. Custom Air Products & Services, Inc. (CAPS), a leader in the custom HVAC, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning industry, is one of the many Houston-based companies looking forward to this opportunity.

The Latin American Leadership Forum annually attracts executives from leading oil & gas, technology, global engineering and construction firms. The goal of the conference is to explore the Top 50 infrastructure projects in Latin America. It is estimated that total project value is in excess of $50 billion and will result in the creation of 2 million jobs.

The Governor of Pernambuco State in Brazil Mr. H.E. Eduardo Campos, Fernando Bezerra, (President SUAPE), the Brazilian ambassador to the United States and other important Brazilian business leaders will attend the conference. On Tuesday, April 28, Govenor Campos, Mr. Bezerra, Amaro Lins (Rector of the Federal University of Pernambuco); Marcelino Guedes (President of Abreu e Lima refinery); Angelo Belellis (President of Atlantico Sul Shipyard); and Sonny Hansen (SUAPE Petrochemical) will visit the CAPS manufacturing facility in Houston.

In addition, executives from CAPS will also attend a Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Monday, April 27th. CAPS is hopeful that the seminar will broaden their vision and lead to exploring opportunities with Brazil.

CAPS continues to record growth as a result of its interest and involvement in infrastructure culture. In 2008, CAPS produced a record 700 units and continues to expand its industrial HVAC services to several international hubs in 2009.

"We welcome the opportunity to meet the delegation from Brazil and give them a tour of the CAPS campus," said Taylor Norris, president of CAPS. "The Latin American Leadership Forum is a prestigious event and we look forward to developing long term relationships with many of the attendees."

While the focus and objectives of IoT initiatives are many and diverse, they all share a few common attributes, and one of those is the network. Commonly, that network includes the Internet, over which there isn't any real control for performance and availability. Or is there? The current state of the art for Big Data analytics, as applied to network telemetry, offers new opportunities for improving and assuring operational integrity. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Jim Frey, Vice President of S...

The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
