Microsoft, IBM, SAP To Discontinue UDDI Web Services Registry Effort
Microsoft, IBM and SAP have announced their decision to discontinue the UDDI Business Registry (UBR) project for Web services. According to the three companies, the goal of the project to prove the interoperability and robustness of the UDDI Web Services Registry was 'met and far exceeded'. The project will be discontinued from January 12, 2006.

While public UDDI registries are no longer supported by such vendors as Microsoft, IBM or SAP, there are several efforts in place to still provide search facilities for publicly available Web Services. One of them, namely seekda ([visit link]), while not based on UDDI protocol, provides already at this stage search facilities for more than 24K Web Services. |
